British actor Tom Holland has opened up about his decision to quit alcohol, calling it a “monumental” step in his personal growth.
The 29-year-old says sobriety has significantly improved both his personal and professional life.
Tom Holland revealed that he stopped drinking alcohol in January 2022.
The actor, known globally for playing Peter Parker in the Spider-Man films, described the decision as one of the most important changes in his life.
Stress and struggles behind the scenes
Speaking to USA Today, Holland explained that life in the spotlight brought constant stress.
He said being an actor and living life on a “big stage” can be overwhelming, adding that alcohol worsened the issue rather than easing it.
Sobriety changed his daily life
Holland shared that after quitting alcohol, he began waking up with a clear head and more energy each day.
He said sobriety helped him feel more like himself, improving his confidence and emotional stability.
According to him, removing alcohol from his life helped him regain control and clarity.
Since becoming sober, Holland’s career has continued to grow rapidly.
He is currently set to appear in major upcoming projects including The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Avengers: Doomsday.
