Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has confirmed that former senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan has been released by Israeli forces.
He expressed gratitude to the Greek authorities for their facilitation in securing the release. In a message on X, Dar stated that he was pleased to share the news of Khan’s release. He said the former senator had been unlawfully detained by Israeli forces while aboard a humanitarian flotilla.
Alhamdolillah, I am pleased to share that former senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, who was unlawfully detained by Israeli occupying forces along with other humanitarian workers aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, has been released.

Dar thanked the Hellenic authorities for their role in facilitating Khan’s stay in Crete, Greece. He also conveyed appreciation to the leadership and government of Turkiye for arrangements enabling Khan’s return to Istanbul for onward travel to Pakistan.
He commended the timely response of the Foreign Office and the Pakistani Embassy in Athens.
The deputy prime minister strongly condemned the detention of humanitarian workers and termed the obstruction of aid to the besieged people of Gaza as unacceptable.
He reiterated that Pakistan would continue its unwavering support for the Palestinian people.
