Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that Marka-e-Haq, completed after one year of its success, has elevated the status of Pakistan.
Addressing a cultural event, he added that Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos has also raised Pakistan’s standing in the world. Tarar said the country is called a blessed state as it was created as a divine gift. He noted that the founders achieved Pakistan after great sacrifices, with Allama Iqbal conceiving the dream and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah giving it practical shape.
He stated that hostile elements remain uneasy over Pakistan’s independence and continue to engage in conspiracies. He referred to the Pahalgam incident and said Pakistan had called for transparent investigations. He added that Pakistan continues to confront terrorism, while accusing India of spreading terrorism.
He said the prime minister called for an inquiry into the incident, and the Field Marshal led strategic planning, adding that Pakistan downed eight Indian aircraft during the conflict.
Tarar said that the Fateh missile struck Indian installations, leaving their representatives unsettled. He maintained that the claims of avoiding war were contradicted by the attack itself. The federal minister said Pakistan compelled the adversary to retreat within hours.
He added that the victory granted to Pakistan would be remembered for generations, adding that the nation stands firmly with its armed forces like an iron wall.
Separately, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided to mark May 9 as a celebration of Marka-e-Haq. Saeed Ghani said a grand ceremony will be held at Sea View in Karachi, featuring well-known singers and personalities from various fields.
He said the PPP Karachi Division will install flags, banners, stalls and reception camps across the city to pay tribute to the performance of the armed forces. He added that Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, provincial ministers, central and provincial leaders, and a large number of citizens will attend the event, which will conclude with a fireworks display.
