A candid moment in a recent interview put the spotlight on Junaid Khan, as his father Aamir Khan opened up about his journey in films.
The veteran actor praised his son’s resilience, calling him a “lambi race ka ghoda.”
Speaking about his son, Aamir Khan said he prefers not to interfere in Junaid’s career decisions.
“He is a very independent guy, very strong-willed and doesn’t give up easily,” Aamir shared, highlighting Junaid’s self-driven nature.
The actor added that Junaid has always chosen his own path, refusing to rely on his father’s influence.
‘Failures don’t faze him’
Aamir compared Junaid’s early journey to his own, noting how both were described as long-distance runners in the industry.
“Voh lambi race ka ghoda hai… Failures don’t faze him, and he’s very honest with himself,” he said.
The statement reflects confidence in Junaid’s ability to sustain a long-term career despite early challenges.
From debut to new beginnings
Junaid Khan made his acting debut with Maharaj, where his performance drew attention.
However, his first theatrical release did not perform well at the box office. Despite this, he has continued to focus on new projects and growth as an actor.
Praising his son’s acting style, Aamir said Junaid remains committed to his roles without trying to appear overly heroic.
Referring to his upcoming film Ek Din, Aamir noted, “He has followed his character with full honesty… although it’s not a very heroic role, he never tried to step out of it.”
Aamir also recalled a memory from Junaid’s childhood, sharing that he enjoyed watching action shows and once accompanied him to a film screening.
The experience, he said, left a lasting impression on Junaid at a young age.
Ek Din, produced under Aamir Khan Productions along with Mansoor Khan and Aparna Purohit, is expected to offer a soft, emotional storytelling experience supported by music and visuals.
The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026.
