Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held separate telephone conversations with the Prime Minister of Qatar and the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, France and Egypt.
According to Arab media reports, Abbas Araghchi spoke with the Qatari prime minister, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, France’s Jean-Noël Barrot and Egypt’s Badr Abdelatty prior to his arrival in Islamabad, with discussions centred on diplomatic efforts.
During the exchanges, views were shared on progress regarding the ceasefire and the challenges to its stability. Consultations also covered talks between the United States and Iran, alongside efforts to reduce tensions in the region.
The Iranian foreign minister stressed the constructive role of Europe, while France reaffirmed its support for the continuation of diplomacy and negotiations.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the four countries emphasised the need for Iran to maintain the ceasefire, remain committed to the negotiating path and enhance consultation.
