Actors Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi have been cleared in the 2022 drugs case after Mumbai Police confirmed there is no evidence linking them to the investigation.
Officials say a supplementary chargesheet is now being prepared.
Mumbai Police have concluded that there is no material evidence connecting Shraddha Kapoor, Nora Fatehi, or other named public figures to the alleged drugs case.
Authorities say the investigation has found no link between the celebrities and the suspected drug distribution network.
Case origin in 2022 arrest
The case dates back to August 2022 when Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch and Anti-Narcotics Cell arrested alleged drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh.
During the operation, mephedrone worth ₹1.19 lakh was recovered. Shaikh later reportedly claimed he had supplied drugs at parties attended by various public figures.
Investigation and questioning in 2025
In 2025, the Anti-Narcotics Cell questioned several individuals named in connection with the case, including Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi.
Others questioned included social media personality Orhan Awatramani (Orry), actor Siddhanth Kapoor, and politician Zeeshan Siddique.
Despite questioning, investigators found no supporting evidence linking them to drug distribution activities.
Police to file supplementary chargesheet
According to officials cited in reports, the investigation has now reached its conclusion phase.
A source said an initial chargesheet was filed against three accused, and a supplementary chargesheet will now be submitted against two arrested individuals and one absconding suspect.
“The evidence does not establish any connection between the celebrities and the case so far,” the source stated.
Following the development, Orhan Awatramani (Orry) reacted on social media, sharing reports related to the case.
His post reflected frustration over being linked to the controversy during earlier stages of the investigation.
