Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif discussed on Thursday the Pakistan’s peace efforts to resolve the Middle East crisis during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong.
According to details, the prime minister acknowledged Pakistan’s strategic partnership with China, stating, “Pakistan takes pride in its strategic partnership with China.”
The Chinese ambassador called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal and Attaullah Tarar were also present. Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch attended the meeting as well.
The prime minister conveyed his good wishes to the President and Prime Minister of China. He expressed satisfaction over bilateral relations between Pakistan and China, reiterating that Pakistan takes pride in its strategic partnership with China.

He reaffirmed his resolve to continue close cooperation with the Chinese leadership, adding that such cooperation would further strengthen ties between the two countries.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East and Pakistan’s peace efforts.
The Chinese ambassador thanked the prime minister and appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for peace in the region. He reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen friendship with Pakistan in line with the vision of the Chinese president, and reiterated China’s resolve to take bilateral ties to new heights.

Separately, PM Shehbaz said that the energy security now holds paramount importance in the context of future planning.
According to details, the premier chaired a key meeting on energy security, during which he said that work was under way on a plan to maintain strategic reserves of crude oil in the country.
The prime minister said energy security had become an essential part of future planning, adding that timely measures and energy conservation had prevented any crisis in the prevailing situation.
