Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said Tehran appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to mediate a ceasefire, adding that the country stood ready to deal with any situation.
He said Iran did not initiate the conflict and that all measures had been taken under the right of self-defence. He added that Iran would protect its security and national interests at all costs.
Separately, the Iran’s Revolutionary Guards a spokesperson said the region was entering a new order without external powers. He said Iranian forces possessed the capability to respond to aggression by the United States and Israel.
He added that the Iranian nation had stood alongside its armed forces for 50 nights, terming it as a unique event in modern history.
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the actions of the Revolutionary Guards had disproved the enemy’s assumptions. He said Iran’s armed forces had thwarted hostile designs.
