The government has decided to return a further $1 billion to the United Arab Emirates.
Sources divulged on Wednesday that Pakistan will repay the additional $1 billion to the UAE on Thursday, adding that the country has already returned $2.5 billion to the Gulf state.
Pakistan had secured $2 billion in deposits from the UAE in 2018, while the government also obtained a further $1 billion in 2023.
The sizeable repayment will not affect the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
It is pertinent to note that Pakistan recently received $3 billion from Saudi Arabia.
