Pakistan national cricket team all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz has come under investigation after his dope test returned positive, according to a cricket website.
According to details surfaced on Wednesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has initiated a formal inquiry against the player following the development. The matter was earlier reported to the PCB by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the report said.
Nawaz’s dope test was conducted during the Men's T20 World Cup 2026. The PCB will forward the findings of its investigation to the ICC upon completion.
Moreover, English county side Surrey has also terminated its contract with Mohammad Nawaz.
Sources divulvged that Nawaz had declined to accept the results of his dope test, according to sources. In conversations with close associates, Nawaz maintained that he had not used any illegal substances.
A second dope test was conducted as the initial report could have been incorrect.
The report of Nawaz’s second test is expected by April 30. However, following the emergence of the news, Nawaz has remained firm in his position.
