Information Minister Atta Tarar has sharply criticized India on the first anniversary of the Pahalgam incident, calling it a “false flag operation” and accusing New Delhi of failing to provide evidence.
He reiterated Pakistan’s stance of seeking an independent international investigation while warning of a strong response to any future aggression.
Tarar said Pakistan had repeatedly offered an impartial and independent international investigation into the Pahalgam incident.
However, he alleged that the government led by Narendra Modi has not responded to these offers and has failed to present any credible evidence to support its claims. He added that even a year later, India has “nothing to answer the world” regarding the incident.

Marking one year since the incident in India-held Kashmir, Tarar declared that April 22 marked the last day of what he described as India’s false flag operation. He claimed that India could not build a convincing narrative, as inconsistencies and questions emerged, even from Indian politicians and think tanks.
According to him, the rapid registration of an FIR within 10 minutes of the incident also raised serious doubts about its authenticity.
Terrorism as state policy
The information minister alleged that India uses terrorism as a policy tool, accusing it of externalizing internal issues while presenting Kashmir as an internal matter. He claimed that India’s “ugly face” has been exposed globally multiple times and that Pakistan is a victim of terrorism, while India is its promoter.
Tarar further alleged that India is involved in promoting terrorism at the global level, with evidence collected by Pakistan.
Tarar said Pakistan has identified India’s involvement in various terrorist incidents, linking it to groups such as Fitna-ul-Hindustan and the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan. He also referred to the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, claiming India’s narrative “failed miserably” after his capture.
Strong warning over future aggression
The minister warned that any future aggression by India would be met with a “prompt, crushing, and decisive response.”
He said India had already suffered a “severe and humiliating blow”, referring to what he described as defeat in “Operation Sindoor,” adding that even recent discussions around the operation amount to an admission of that defeat.
Tarar emphasized that Pakistan has emerged as a symbol of peace globally, while India is facing increasing isolation on the international stage. He claimed that the world views Pakistan with respect and dignity, whereas India has become unpopular globally.
The minister also raised concerns about minority rights in India, alleging that Muslims are being targeted for violence. He accused India of promoting terrorism domestically and internationally while engaging in propaganda efforts, including through films.
Tarar expressed condolences to Indian citizens who he said were victims of what he termed “false flag state terrorism.” He reiterated that Pakistan will not compromise on its honor and dignity, and vowed that the country will continue efforts to defeat terrorism.
Govt, nation stand with armed forces
Concluding his remarks, Tarar said the entire government and nation stand shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan’s armed forces.
He added that Pakistan remains united and will take every possible step for its defense, while continuing to pursue a broader peace mission.
