The Punjab government has announced an early salary disbursement for its employees ahead of the Labour Day holiday. The move ensures workers receive their pay on time before an extended holiday period.
The Punjab government has decided that salaries for its employees will be paid on April 30. The directive aims to facilitate employees before the start of consecutive public holidays.
According to a notification, the decision was taken in view of Labour Day on May 1. Since May 1 is a public holiday, authorities moved the salary payment date earlier to avoid delays.
Weekend holidays extend break
The notification also highlighted that May 3 falls on a weekend, with both Saturday and Sunday being holidays. This creates an extended holiday period, making early salary disbursement necessary for government employees.
The Punjab Finance Department has formally issued orders to ensure timely payment of salaries. Officials said the step is aimed at providing convenience and financial ease to employees ahead of the holidays.
