The moon for Zilqad has been sighted in Pakistan, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said.
A notification stated that the first of Zilqad 1447 AH will fall on Sunday, April 19. Addressing the media in Lahore, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said the Zilqad moon had been sighted.
Meetings of zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees were held across the country, he added.
"The skies remained mostly clear in many parts of Pakistan, though cloudy in some areas. The moon was sighted in Karachi, Multan, Quetta and Bahawalpur," he added.
