Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has said the country has begun examining new proposals put forward by the United States.
According to the council, Washington has presented fresh suggestions in recent days, but Tehran has yet to issue any response.
It said a firm stance has been adopted in the negotiations, adding that Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has played the role of mediator.
The council stated that the Iranian negotiating team will not enter into any compromise and will defend the interests of the Iranian nation with full force.
Iranian president praises army’s faith and discipline
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that faith, discipline and a revolutionary spirit form the essence of the Iranian armed forces.
In a message issued on National Army Day, Mr Pezeshkian said the army remains resolute in defending the country’s sovereignty. He said the forces stand prepared and united to confront the threats faced by the nation.
He said the Iranian army symbolises national dignity, strength and independence, adding that faith, discipline and a revolutionary spirit are embedded in its character.
The President further said the army plays a vital role in safeguarding the country’s borders and maintaining peace. He added that the armed forces provide assistance and services to the public in times of difficulty.
