United States President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to accelerate research into mental illness.
Addressing a ceremony marking the signing of the order, Trump said it was distressing to observe the situation in Spain. “Has anyone seen how bad Spain’s condition is? It is regrettable,” he added.
He said the order would hasten research into psychiatric disorders and announced reforms aimed at improving access to treatment and advancing medicine-based clinical research.
The US president, announcing measures related to drug research and reforms for mental health conditions, said drug smuggling had declined in the United States.
Trump also complained that Spain was not contributing its share to NATO, adding that medicine prices had fallen by 80 per cent due to his policies.
