Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong support for Saudi Arabia following a high-level meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
In a statement shared on X, the premier described the meeting as both an honour and a step forward in strengthening bilateral relations.
Shehbaz said he had the “pleasure and honour” of meeting Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, referring to him as his “dear brother.”
During the meeting, he conveyed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom and praised Saudi Arabia’s patience and restraint during challenging regional circumstances. He also commended the leadership of the crown prince, describing it as “sagacious” during a time of heightened tensions.

Pakistan’s peace efforts in US-Iran conflict
The PM shared key developments regarding Pakistan’s diplomatic role in the region, particularly its efforts in facilitating the US-Iran ceasefire.
He noted that Pakistan had played a part in advancing historic peace talks held in Islamabad, aimed at easing tensions between the United States and Iran.
Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to continuing these efforts, encouraging both sides to reach an agreement that ensures lasting peace and stability in the region.
Appreciation for Saudi cooperation
Expressing gratitude, PM Shehbaz thanked Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for supporting Pakistan’s sincere peace initiatives. He also acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s consistent backing of Pakistan’s economic stability, emphasizing the importance of the Kingdom’s role in supporting the country’s financial outlook.
During the discussions, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the unique defence and security relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening this enduring partnership and expanding cooperation across key sectors.

During the talks, Saudi Arabia expressed interest in increasing investment in Pakistan, reaffirming its support for the country’s economic stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the Kingdom’s continued backing and highlighted the longstanding strategic partnership between the two nations.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role, as well as the contributions of Field Marshal Asim Munir in advancing peace initiatives. The Saudi leadership praised Pakistan’s efforts as a positive step toward reducing regional tensions.
