Israel’s top military leadership has signaled an escalation in regional tensions.
In a strong statement, the country’s military chief General Eyal Zamir confirmed plans to continue operations in both Iran and Lebanon.
Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir said that plans have been approved for the continuation of attacks in both Iran and Lebanon.
He stated that Israel, along with the United States, had already carried out strikes that significantly impacted Iran’s defensive capabilities.
According to Zamir, these actions were aimed at weakening Iran’s ability to respond and limiting its strategic options.
Focus on Iran’s nuclear
Zamir emphasized that Israel would not allow Iran to gain ground on key strategic issues.
These include concerns related to Iran’s nuclear programme, as well as its position in critical regions such as the Strait of Hormuz.
He added that Israeli forces remain capable of launching rapid and powerful strikes if required.
Addressing the situation in Lebanon, Zamir confirmed that Israeli military operations are ongoing, particularly in the southern region.
He said forces are actively capturing and clearing key areas, with the stated aim of removing threats to Israel’s northern settlements.
