The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly praising the diplomatic efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their role in reducing regional tensions.
The resolution was moved by PML-N MPA Uzma Kardar.
According to the text of the resolution, the efforts of Shehbaz Sharif, Asim Munir, and Ishaq Dar helped ease tensions in the Middle East, contributing to Pakistan’s significant role in preventing a potential global catastrophe. It claimed that without Pakistan’s efforts toward a peace agreement, there could have been a risk of nuclear conflict in the world, leading to massive loss of life and severe damage to the global economy.
The resolution further stated that Pakistan’s successful diplomacy led to talks in Islamabad, resulting in important progress between the United States and Iran. It added that the international community, including the United Nations and other global institutions, has acknowledged Pakistan’s role in promoting peace.
It also claimed that Pakistan’s efforts have increased confidence among countries such as the United Kingdom, European states, and Canada, while strengthening hopes for improved dialogue between Iran and the United States.
The resolution said that following what it described as Pakistan’s success in “Marka-e-Haq,” the country’s military strength has been globally recognized. It further stated that Pakistan would continue its efforts to promote peace between Iran, the United States, and Israel through dialogue and diplomacy.
The House, according to the resolution, also expressed support for recommending Nobel Prizes for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their diplomatic contributions.
