The total number of registered companies in Pakistan has crossed 290,000, reflecting continued growth in business activity across the country.
According to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), 2,993 new companies were registered in March 2026 alone. The commission reported an 11 percent increase in new company registrations compared to the same month last year.
Among the newly registered entities, 58 companies include foreign investors from China, the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States. The total paid-up capital of the newly registered companies stands at Rs2.8 billion.
SECP data shows that 57 percent of the newly registered firms are private limited companies, while 49 percent are single-member companies. The information technology and e-commerce sectors led the way, with 606 new companies registered.
Region-wise, Punjab recorded the highest number of registrations with 1,488 companies, followed by Islamabad with 552, Sindh with 447, Gilgit-Baltistan with 233, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 224, and Balochistan with 49 companies.
