Iran’s negotiating delegation chief Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said that the United States has understood Iran’s position and principles.
He said the decision now rests with Washington, whether it can earn Tehran’s trust or not. In a statement, Ghalibaf said Pakistan’s efforts in facilitating the negotiation process were appreciated. The Iranian delegation put forward future-oriented proposals. He added that the opposing side, at this stage, failed to secure the trust of the Iranian delegation.
On the other hand, the United States has issued a final offer to Iran. US Vice President JD Vance said a deal had not been reached, adding that they were leaving with their best offer on the table. He stressed that clear assurances were required that Iran would not develop nuclear weapons, and said a response was awaited.
JD Vance said the United States had shown flexibility, while Tehran had not accepted the conditions. He added that Pakistan had played a constructive role in efforts for peace.
