The Pakistan-mediated negotiations between Iran and the United States have concluded after 14 hours of intense discussions, according to an official statement shared by the Iranian government on X.
The talks, hosted in Islamabad, mark a significant diplomatic effort aimed at easing tensions between the two countries, with Pakistan playing a central mediating role.
Following the marathon session, technical teams from both sides exchanged expert-level drafts, signaling progress toward a potential agreement.

Talks continue despite differences
Despite progress, Tehran acknowledged that some differences remain between the two sides. However, both delegations have agreed to continue the process with a new round of trilateral negotiations in pursuit of a resolution.
At Pakistan’s proposal, it later said, and with the consent of both Iranian and US negotiating teams, the Pakistan-mediated talks will resume after a scheduled pause on Sunday.

The ongoing dialogue underscores Pakistan’s growing role as a facilitator in high-stakes international diplomacy. Hosting both delegations in Islamabad highlights the country’s efforts to promote peaceful conflict resolution through dialogue.
Earlier, Tehran had mentioned that the talks between Iran and the US had entered the expert-level stage joined by "economic, military, legal, and nuclear committees".

Earlier in the day, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar had stated that the ongoing peace talks between the United States and Iran in Islamabad could continue beyond Saturday if discussions progress positively, as Pakistan intensifies efforts to help end the six-week conflict in the Middle East.
In a statement, he underscored the complexity of the situation, noting that tensions between the two countries have persisted for 47 years, making a swift resolution unlikely.
He emphasized that disputes of such magnitude cannot be resolved in short meetings lasting only a few hours.

Tarar further explained that both sides remained in constant communication with their respective governments throughout the process, stressing that no agreement would be finalized without prior approval from their leadership.
The minister also noted that the talks were originally scheduled to begin on April 10, with the expectation that they would conclude within a single day.
