Prime Minister Sharif held an important meeting with the Iranian delegation participating in the Islamabad Talks. The Iranian side was led by Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, who was accompanied by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
During the meeting, the prime minister appreciated Iran’s engagement in the ongoing talks in Islamabad. He described Iran’s participation as a positive step toward building momentum for meaningful dialogue aimed at resolving regional tensions.

Commitment to peace and stability
Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance, Shehbaz said the country will continue to play a positive and effective role in promoting peace and stability both regionally and globally.
He emphasized Pakistan’s sincere resolve to act as a facilitator and support diplomatic efforts that can lead to lasting solutions.
The meeting was also attended by key Pakistani officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Also present were Field Marshal Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, highlighting the importance of the discussions.

On Friday night, the high-powered delegation from Iran, led by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and accompanied by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, arrived in Islamabad to participate in the much-anticipated Islamabad Talks.

The delegation was received at the airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
During the reception, Ishaq Dar expressed hope that all parties involved in the talks would engage constructively. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating dialogue aimed at achieving a lasting and durable solution to the ongoing conflict.
Later, a high-level US delegation arrived in Pakistan for negotiations with Iran. With both sides already in the country, expectations are rising for a possible diplomatic breakthrough. The high-powered US delegation is led by US Vice President JD Vance along with Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

The US delegation was received at Nur Khan Airbase by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi upon arrival.
Welcoming the US vice president, Dar commended the US commitment to achieving lasting regional and global peace and stability. He also expressed the hope that parties would engage constructively, and reiterated Pakistan’s desire to continue facilitating the parties towards reaching lasting and durable solution to the conflict.
