French President Emmanuel Macron has urged Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to draw benefit from the Islamabad negotiations.
The appeal came during a telephone conversation between the two leaders, officials said. President Macron stressed that measures should be taken through dialogue to ease prevailing tensions.
He also said Iran should restore maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. The French president added that France stands ready to assist in efforts aimed at the restoration of navigation in the strategic waterway.
Referring to Lebanon, Macron said the right to determine the country’s future rests with the Lebanese government.
