Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Thursday to review the progress of efforts for sustainable peace in the region.
During the meeting, both leaders expressed satisfaction over the reduction in recent tensions. They emphasised that all parties should maintain peace and uphold the ceasefire.
The prime minister and the Field Marshal praised the patience and restraint shown by the parties involved. It was reiterated that Pakistan would provide full support to the parties until a final agreement is reached. PM Shehbaz commended the commitment of all participants in the peace process.
He conveyed best wishes for their continued efforts to achieve lasting peace. PM also reiterated his invitation to upcoming delegations and assured them of Pakistan’s complete cooperation.

Separately, earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had lauded Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in securing a ceasefire, while raising concerns over alleged Israeli violations during a key call with army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir.
According to the Iranian Embassy, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation with Field Marshal Asim Munir, during which he praised Pakistan’s role in promoting peace.
Araghchi appreciated Pakistan’s “constructive, responsible, and effective” efforts in ending the war and strengthening regional security. He also acknowledged Islamabad’s continuous diplomatic engagement that helped secure the ceasefire between Iran and the United States.
