The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has altered match timings in a move aimed at conserving energy.
The decision was taken in support of the government’s energy-saving campaign, the board said. Revised timings will be announced at an appropriate time, according to the BCB.
The review of match schedules seeks to make greater use of daylight hours, the board added. Changes have been made to the timings of the scheduled series against New Zealand men and Sri Lanka women, a cricket website reported.
The three-match One Day International series between Bangladesh and New Zealand men will be held as day-night fixtures. All three matches will now begin at 11:00 in the morning, the report said.
The first two matches are due to take place in Dhaka on 17 and 20 April, while the third will be held in Chattogram on April 23.
The three-match Twenty20 series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka women will also now be played during the day.
All matches will begin at 14:00 instead of 18:30, according to the report.
The T20 series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka women will be staged in Sylhet.
The first match is scheduled for 28 April, the second on 30 April, and the third on 2 May.
