Turkiye and Qatar have welcomed the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, calling it a significant step toward reducing regional tensions and restoring stability.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed satisfaction over the ceasefire reached overnight, noting that the conflict since January 28 had brought destruction to the region. He voiced hope that the agreement would be fully implemented on the ground and stressed the need to prevent any provocation or acts of sabotage that could undermine peace efforts.
President Erdogan also thanked Pakistan, describing it as a friendly and brotherly country, and expressed his desire for peace, calm, and stability across the region. He reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to promoting peace both regionally and globally.
Separately, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar welcomed the ceasefire, terming it an important step toward de-escalation. The ministry emphasized the need to build on this development immediately to prevent further tensions.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry also praised the diplomatic efforts of Pakistan’s leadership, including the prime minister and field marshal, stating that their mediation played a key role in achieving the ceasefire. It underscored that full implementation of the agreement is essential for ensuring lasting peace in the region.
