The White House has announced that the Strait of Hormuz has been reopened following a weeks-long military operation led by Donald Trump. Officials say the development marks a major strategic and diplomatic victory for the United States.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt confirmed that President Trump successfully reopened the Strait of Hormuz. She described the achievement as a direct result of strong military action and strategic leadership.
According to Leavitt, the reopening of the critical maritime route is being seen as a significant win for American interests and global stability.
Operation Epic Fury exceeded expectations
Leavitt revealed that from the outset of Operation Epic Fury, President Trump had estimated the mission would take between four to six weeks.
However, the operation concluded its primary military objectives in just 38 days, surpassing expectations. She credited the “unbelievable capabilities” and bravery of American soldiers for achieving and exceeding these goals within a shorter timeframe.

“Our military's success prevailed,” Leavitt said, emphasizing the effectiveness of the operation.
Military pressure enabled diplomatic progress
The spokesperson highlighted that the success on the battlefield created “maximum leverage” for the United States.
This advantage allowed President Trump and his team to engage in tough negotiations, ultimately paving the way for a diplomatic solution. Leavitt noted that the military action directly contributed to opening a path toward long-term peace.
She stressed that the combination of force and negotiation was key to achieving the outcome. Leavitt also described the two-week ceasefire as a victory for the United States.

In her concluding remarks, Leavitt urged observers not to underestimate President Trump’s ability to advance American interests and broker peace.
