China has expressed support for Pakistan’s role in proposals for a ceasefire linked to Iran, urging all parties to pursue dialogue for lasting peace.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Beijing supports Pakistan’s efforts for a ceasefire and expressed hope that the parties would not squander the opportunity for peace.
She said China welcomes all efforts that assist in achieving peace and appreciates Pakistan’s active role in promoting the process of negotiations.
The Chinese Foreign Office stressed that differences should be resolved through dialogue.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, said Pakistan’s positive and constructive efforts, undertaken in good faith and mediation to halt the conflict, have entered a critical and delicate stage.
Earlier, Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported that Tehran had presented peace proposals to Pakistan with the aim of bringing a permanent end to the ongoing conflict with the United States.
According to IRNA, the Iranian delegation has submitted its recommendations in response to US proposals, which were finalised after nearly two weeks of detailed review by the Iranian leadership.
