A day after a slight increase, the price of gold in Pakistan and the global market witnessed a major drop on Tuesday, while silver remained stable.
The price of 24-karat gold per tola fell by Rs3,000, bringing the new rate to Rs488,462, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs2,572, settling at Rs418,777. Also, the price of 10 grammes of 22-karat gold saw a drop of Rs2,358 to be sold for Rs383,892.

International gold prices
The downward movement was not limited to Pakistan. In the global bullion market, gold fell by $30, reaching $4,657 per ounce.
Silver prices in Pakistan
Silver prices, however, did not follow the trend. The price of 24-karat silver per tola remained stable at Rs7,744. Similarly, 10 grams of silver also maintained the previous rate of Rs6,639.
