Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to prevent a wider war in the region have entered a “critical and sensitive stage,” according to Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moqadam.
In a statement shared on X, Ambassador Moqadam highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing role in trying to de-escalate tensions. He said Pakistan’s efforts to stop the war are progressing and have now reached a crucial phase.

The Iranian envoy emphasized that Pakistan is acting in the spirit of goodwill and constructive diplomacy. He noted that Islamabad is engaging with all parties with the aim of preventing further escalation and promoting peace in the region.
According to the ambassador, these efforts reflect Pakistan’s commitment to stability and dialogue during a highly volatile period.
Meanwhile, on Monday, US President Trump confirmed that US officials are in contact with intermediaries in Pakistan to negotiate a possible resolution.

He said Vice President JD Vance, envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner are actively engaged in talks, with the possibility of in-person meetings also being considered.
Speaking to reporters during the Easter Egg Roll event at the White House, Trump said that Vice President JD Vance, US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, and his son-in-law Jared Kushner are engaged in discussions with intermediaries in Pakistan.
When asked whether Vance would continue these talks, Trump said: “Well, he is, and we have Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner talking. They’re all unified and they’re all talking.“
Responding to a question about whether Vance could join an in-person meeting, Trump said: "Could be."
