The Iranian government has announced nationwide mourning ceremonies to mark the 40th day of the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei.
Across Iran, gatherings of condolence and recitations of the Holy Quran will commence from tomorrow, 8 April. A march is scheduled on Thursday from the Islamic Republic Square to the site of Ayatollah Khamenei’s martyrdom.
The central ceremony for the 40th day will take place on Friday at 10am across the country.
It may be recalled that the United States and Israel carried out a bombing at Ayatollah Khamenei’s office in Tehran on 28 February, resulting in his martyrdom.
