At least 45 people have been killed and 105 others injured in various rain-related incidents since March 25, according to a report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The report stated that recent spells of heavy rainfall have triggered multiple accidents across affected areas, including the collapse of house roofs and walls. These incidents have primarily impacted vulnerable and poorly constructed structures, leading to significant human and material losses.
In Yar Hussain, Swabi, a house roof collapsed as a result of rain damage, killing a child who was trapped under the debris. Three women, including another child, were also injured in the incident.
In the Chora area of Khyber, the roof of a mud house caved in, leaving two women dead. Two injured children were shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
Another roof collapse occurred in Khuga Khel Gongi Kili in Landi Kotal, where two young girls were injured after being trapped under the rubble.
Meanwhile, in South Waziristan, the Wana–Gomal Zam Road remains blocked for the fourth consecutive day due to landslides, causing significant difficulties for commuters. District authorities stated that restoration work is underway using heavy machinery, while traffic has been diverted through Jandola Road.
In Murree, landslides have also begun to threaten infrastructure, including the Jhika Gali Chowk remodeling project. Cracks have appeared in the walls, roofs, and verandas of several houses, and dozens of trees have been uprooted. Authorities have ordered the evacuation of the affected area, with announcements being made in mosques. Residents have started emergency relocation, taking their belongings with them.
Officials have urged people living in vulnerable and mountainous areas to remain cautious, as the risk of further structural damage and landslides persists despite the end of rainfall.
