New rest areas and mosques
During his visit, Abdul Aleem Khan inspected newly constructed rest areas and mosques along the expressway. He ordered the National Highway Authority (NHA) to build additional rest areas on both sides of the route.
“These rest areas should be standard, modern, and provide all necessary facilities for travelers,” he said. Separate arrangements for women to offer prayers have also been welcomed and implemented.
The minister stressed that cleanliness, water supply, and other essential amenities must not be compromised in these facilities.
Traffic flow improvements at Lower Topa
To normalize traffic flow in the Murree Lower Topa area, Abdul Aleem Khan directed the NHA to design a new roundabout. This step aims to reduce congestion and improve road safety for commuters.
He also instructed officials to standardize the design of all new construction works along the expressway, ensuring consistency and quality throughout the route.
