An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad on Wednesday postponed indictment proceedings in the Sangjani rally case against PTI lawmakers after several accused failed to appear before the court.
The hearing was conducted by Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra. PTI MNA Aamir Dogar appeared in court, while multiple other accused, including Maulana Naseem Ali Shah, were absent.
Defense counsel informed the court that curfew is frequently imposed at night in Bannu, making it difficult for the accused to attend the hearing.
The court also sought arguments at the next hearing on a plea filed by PTI leader Ali Bukhari seeking acquittal in the case.
Directing all accused to ensure their presence, the court adjourned further proceedings until April 28. Indictment is expected to take place at the next hearing.
