President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the conferment of military awards upon officers and personnel of the three armed forces in recognition of their services.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), approval has been granted for 11 Sitara-e-Basalat, 475 Tamgha-e-Basalat, 130 Imtiazi Sanads and 378 Army Chief Commendation Cards.
Similarly, approval has been accorded for 23 Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), 100 Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) and 136 Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military).
Recipients of the honours include officers and personnel of the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force.
Among those awarded Sitara-e-Basalat are Major Kamil Hussain, Major Sibtain Haider (Shaheed), Major Hamza Israr (Shaheed) and Major Adnan Aslam (Shaheed).
Captain Hasnain Akhtar (Shaheed), Havaldar Ali Bilal (Shaheed) and Naik Bakht Zamin (Shaheed) have also been approved for the same award.
Sepoy Rehman (Shaheed) and Saqlain (Shaheed) of the Army, along with Navy personnel Sohail Arshad and Mazhar Mahmood, are also among those approved for Sitara-e-Basalat.
