Federal Minister Atta Tarar said that operations under Operation Ghazab Lil Haq have been suspended temporarily.
He said the decision was taken at the request of brotherly Islamic countries in respect of Eid ul Fitr. Atta Tarar said Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkiye had requested that the operation be halted.
He said a ceasefire would remain in place from the night between the 18th and 19th until the night between March 23 and 24.
Earlier on February 17, Pakistan’s armed forces carried out precision airstrikes on military installations in Kabul and Nangarhar on the night of March 16, targeting facilities actively supporting terrorism, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar said.
Speaking to the media, Attaullah Tarar stated that the airstrikes successfully destroyed technical support infrastructure and weapons storage facilities at two locations in Kabul.
He highlighted that the explosions observed after the attacks clearly indicated the presence of large explosives stockpiles.
