Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a review meeting on the Ramazan Relief Package 2026, where officials reported that 89 percent of eligible beneficiaries have already received their payments.
The Prime Minister praised all relevant institutions for ensuring that funds were disbursed to deserving individuals in a transparent and efficient manner. He described the Social Protection Wallets Pakistan as a significant milestone and a highly successful initiative.
PM Shehbaz Sharif also instructed that all payments under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) should be made through the Social Protection Wallets system to ensure proper tracking and accountability.
During the briefing, officials noted that nearly two million digital transactions have been completed under the 2026 Ramazan Relief Package.
A comprehensive awareness campaign is ongoing to inform beneficiaries, with media and social media messages used to ensure that all necessary information reaches the public. The 9999 helpline has also received approximately 1.7 million calls from citizens seeking guidance.
Officials added that the Social Protection Wallets system has been effective in reducing gender disparities in the disbursement of funds, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive and transparent delivery of aid to the most deserving citizens.
