Details of the properties included in the privatization transaction of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have been revealed. Official documents show that the national carrier is selling a mix of domestic and international assets as part of the deal.
According to official documents, 11 properties are part of the PIA privatization transaction. Out of these assets, seven properties worth around Rs12 billion are located abroad, while four properties are situated in Pakistan.
Officials say these assets are part of the broader restructuring plan for the national airline.
PIA properties in India, other countries
The documents reveal that PIA owns two properties in India worth more than Rs360 million.
The local value of the property in New Delhi is approximately Rs121.9 million, while the property in Mumbai is valued at around Rs112.5 million in local currency.
Meanwhile, the market value of PIA’s property in New York is about $1.935 million.
European properties
PIA also holds three properties in Amsterdam, which are valued at approximately 3.435 million euros, according to officials. Additionally, the airline owns a property in Uzbekistan valued at around 4 billion local soms.
These international assets form a significant portion of the airline’s overseas holdings.
Four PIA properties in Pakistan
Apart from international assets, four properties included in the privatization deal are located in Pakistan. Documents estimate the combined value of these local properties at around Rs11.40 billion.
Among them, the PIA Peshawar Sales Office building is valued at approximately Rs5.56 billion.
Other domestic properties include PIA’s building on Mall Road in Rawalpindi, which is valued at Rs2.54 billion. The PIA sales office in Islamabad’s Blue Area is estimated to be worth Rs2.67 billion.
Meanwhile, PIA’s property in Quetta is valued at around Rs915.7 million, according to officials.
Major international hotels owned by PIA
In addition to these properties, the national airline also owns two major hotels abroad. These include the Roosevelt Hotel in New York and the Scribe Hotel in Paris, France.
Both properties are considered significant assets within PIA’s international portfolio.
