Islamabad Airport will be temporarily closed for commercial flights on March 16, according to a new NOTAM issued by aviation authorities.
The restriction will affect landings and takeoffs for two hours in the morning, and pilots are being instructed to carry additional fuel.
Flight restrictions announced
The NOTAM states that six sectors of the Lahore Flight Information Region (FIR) will be temporarily closed on March 16.
During the closure, commercial flights will not be allowed to land or take off at Islamabad Airport between 8:30 am and 10:30 am.
Aircraft already in the air during this period will have to wait before landing, and captains are advised to carry extra fuel to account for potential delays.
Airlines operating flights to and from Islamabad have been instructed to inform passengers about the temporary restrictions and possible rescheduling or delays.
Travelers are advised to check with their respective airlines for updated flight timings and make necessary adjustments to their travel plans.
