Indian cricketer Arshdeep Singh has been fined for a breach of discipline, with the International Cricket Council (ICC) imposing a 15 per cent fine on his match fee.
One demerit point has also been added to his record. During the T20 World Cup final, Arshdeep Singh threw the ball in a dangerous manner towards New Zealand batter Daryl Mitchell, upon which the umpire issued a warning during the match.
Action against Arshdeep Singh was taken under Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
It is pertinent to note that India have now secured three T20 World Cup titles after winning the latest edition — the T20 World Cup 2026 — by defeating New Zealand in the final.
