Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif marked International Women’s Day by affirming the government’s commitment to protecting women’s rights and ensuring an environment where they can thrive without fear or discrimination.
He paid tribute to women across Pakistan for their contributions to national development and social progress.
In his message on March 8, the Prime Minister said this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Rights, Justice and Action: For All Women and Girls,” reflects Pakistan’s dedication to gender equality.
He highlighted that empowering women is key to sustainable development and national prosperity, adding that no nation can progress without providing equal opportunities and meaningful participation to women.
Women’s role in nation-building
The Prime Minister praised Pakistani women for their hard work, courage, and achievements across all spheres of life, stating that they play a crucial role in both family and society.
He noted that women have made significant contributions in fields such as politics, judiciary, law enforcement, education, healthcare, business, sports, and the armed forces, setting new benchmarks for future generations.
