Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi has raised the question of why a head of the national selection committee has not yet been appointed.
Speaking on Samaa TV’s programme ‘Zor Ka Jor’, Afridi also spoke about the captaincy of fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi in One-day Internationals. Addressing Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Afridi urged him to announce the name of the chief selector.
He said Shaheen Shah Afridi should receive the freedom to lead the side according to his own judgement.
Afridi added that the captain and the team coach should jointly prepare the squad for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
