The federal government has dismissed 128 contract employees working in the Passport and Immigration Department, according to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Interior.
The decision comes after the director general (DG) Passport recommended that the contracts of these employees should not be extended.
The Ministry of Interior formally confirmed the decision through an official notification.
According to the notification, 128 contract employees of the Passport and Immigration Department have been dismissed, ending their employment with the department.
The action was taken following administrative recommendations from the relevant authorities.

Sources said that the Passport and Immigration DG had recommended that the contracts of these employees should not be extended.
Based on this recommendation, the government decided not to renew the contracts, resulting in the termination of the employees.
