United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received a telephone call from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the state news agency, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and various aspects of mutual cooperation. Matters concerning the regional and international situation also came under discussion.
A statement said the two presidents reviewed prospects for further strengthening cooperation in areas of common interest. The official communiqué stated that the contact formed part of ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two countries. No further details were released.
The United Arab Emirates and Russia continue cooperation across several sectors, including energy, trade and investment. In recent years, high-level contacts and meetings have remained sustained, covering different dimensions of bilateral partnership.
