Pakistan has repelled a series of cross-border ground attacks and fire raids launched by the Afghan Taliban in northern Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing at least 67 militants, according to Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar.
The latest figures, released on March 3, detail the scale of the assaults and Pakistan’s retaliatory response under Operation Ghazab Lil Haq.
Tarar said the Afghan Taliban launched ground attacks at 16 locations in northern Balochistan. The assaults targeted Qila Saifullah, Nushki, and Chaman districts. In addition, fire raids were carried out against Pakistani forces at 25 locations.
According to the minister, all attacks, including other operations, were successfully repelled by Pakistani security forces.
27 militants killed in Balochistan response
In retaliatory action by the Pakistan Army, 27 Afghan Taliban operatives were killed and several others injured in Balochistan. While defending the country, one soldier of FC Balochistan North embraced martyrdom. Five other personnel were injured during the clashes.
Tarar paid tribute to the fallen soldier and emphasized the armed forces’ resolve in defending the motherland.
Attacks extended to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The minister further revealed that a ground attack was also attempted from Afghanistan at one location in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Fire raids were carried out at 12 locations in the province. He said all these attacks were foiled without any casualties. Operations continued throughout the night in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the killing of 40 Afghan Taliban operatives.
Tarar stated that follow-up operations are ongoing to eliminate remaining threats. He added that a detailed update will be issued in due course as Operation Ghazab Lil Haq progresses.
The minister reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain vigilant and fully prepared to respond decisively to any aggression.
