The New York Times has claimed that the CIA assisted Israel in an attack on Iran’s supreme leader.
According to the newspaper, the CIA traced a meeting of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, following which Israel carried out the strike. The agency learnt that a significant meeting was scheduled for Saturday morning. On the basis of this information, the United States and Israel fixed the timing of the attack.
The report further stated that Iranian leaders did not take adequate measures to shield themselves from danger, despite clear signals from Israel and the United States that preparations for war were under way. The CIA had been monitoring Khamenei’s movements for months.
