In view of the situation in Iran, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued special instructions to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and directed that all possible steps be taken to ensure the safe repatriation of Pakistanis present in Iran.
A high-level meeting on the country’s security situation was held under the chairmanship of the prime minister, during which he issued directives to ensure comprehensive and effective protective measures in view of the prevailing circumstances.
He ordered that Pakistani nationals be brought back safely to Pakistan through Azerbaijan.
According to details, the prime minister directed all relevant institutions at the federal and provincial levels to discharge their responsibilities with mutual coordination and complete harmony.
During the briefing, the prime minister was informed that all security agencies remain on alert in light of the current situation and that all necessary measures are being taken to safeguard national security.
The prime minister also directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish immediate contact with the Government of Azerbaijan.
PM Shehbaz said that the armed forces stand fully prepared at all times to defend the country’s security, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, the armed forces are performing their duties in an exemplary manner.
"The entire nation pays tribute to the sacrifices of the security forces in the fight against terrorism," he said.
