Tremors measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale were felt in Bangladesh on Friday afternoon.
According to a report, the earthquake struck at 1:54pm and continued for several seconds. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department recorded the intensity at 5.4 on the Richter scale.
The epicentre was located in the Satkhira area at a depth of 10 kilometres beneath the surface. No immediate reports of damage were received. The United States Geological Survey put the magnitude at 5.3.
