Pakistan has issued a strong response to what it described as unprovoked actions by the Afghan Taliban government, reaffirming its commitment to eliminate terrorism originating from Afghanistan.
In a statement, the spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office said the country had taken effective and proportionate countermeasures in response to Afghan aggression and subsequent provocations.
According to the statement, Pakistani security forces inflicted significant losses on terrorist organizations and targeted their logistical support centers inside Afghanistan.
The spokesperson emphasized that the actions were undertaken to protect Pakistani citizens and to safeguard broader regional and global security. The statement warned that any further escalation by the Taliban authorities would be met with a decisive and effective response.
Pakistan also stated that despite multiple goodwill gestures, terrorist attacks originating from Afghan territory have increased. The Foreign Office alleged that militant groups operating against Pakistan have received active support and backing from the Taliban administration as well as India.
Reaffirming its stance, Pakistan declared that it would eliminate terrorism emanating from Afghan soil and called on Afghan authorities to end safe havens allegedly provided to militant groups operating under the names ‘Fitna al-Khawarij’ and ‘Fitna al-Hindustan’.
