The father of Indian cricketer Rinku Singh, a key member of the team for the T20 World Cup 2026, has passed away.
According to international news agencies, Khanchand Singh, Rinku’s father, had been battling liver cancer for a long time and passed away this morning at a hospital in the outskirts of New Delhi.
Middle-order batsman Rinku Singh has temporarily left the squad to mourn the loss of his father. Former captain Virat Kohli expressed deep sorrow over Rinku Singh’s bereavement, and several other former cricketers, including Harbhajan Singh, also conveyed their condolences, calling it a difficult time for the family.
Rinku Singh had rejoined the squad before the Super Eight stage match against Zimbabwe but was not included in the playing eleven for the match held in Chennai.
